2026 BCABA Fall Policy Colloquium

  • 23 Sep 2026
  • 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Holland & Knight LLP, 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC

The Board of Contract Appeals Bar Association is pleased to present expert panels on:
Alternative Dispute Resolution Processes and Strategies
& Effective Use of Expert Witnesses

This year’s Board of Contract Appeals Bar Association Fall Colloquium will explore processes and strategies for alternative dispute resolution before the Boards of Contract Appeals (“BCAs”), and discuss strategies for how to effectively employ expert witnesses in litigation before the BCAs.
  • Our first panel on alternative dispute resolution in BCAs practice will explore the various processes for ADR before the Boards. The panelists will discuss strategies, ethical considerations and practical realities to resolve litigation short of a hearing.
  • Our second panel will explore how to effectively employ expert witnesses. The panelists will discuss best practices for utilizing experts throughout the litigation cycle, from researching and retaining an expert, through to expert testimony during a BCA hearing. The panelists will also explore ethical implications of retaining and working with experts.

In addition to discussing these issues, our panels will also offer thoughts on how these matters might best be addressed by the BCAs. This is a free event and all are welcome. We welcome your participation, so please come prepared to share your experiences and ask questions of our outstanding panelists!

BCABA is seeking approval for three hours of Continuing Legal Education credit from the Virginia State Bar for this event. More information to follow.
